'American Idol' Top 8 tackle songs from the '80s; The Wanted perform 'Glad You Came'

It's not surprising that Season 11 "American Idol" contestants would have to tackle songs from the '80s at some point during the competition, but it's a little distressing that only one of the finalists was actually alive during the decade. (Elise Testone, you are surrounded by children.)

Top 8 week is dedicated to all things '80s, which could prove interesting for the current crop of competitors. Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez and Skylar Laine rocked a Madonna medley during Top 9 week, so maybe the girls will switch from their ballad-only mode and rock out to a more upbeat song.

And maybe Phillip Phillips will do something different from his usual bluesy growl -- hey, we we like, but it could use a little change-up.

On the Top 8 results show, we'll welcome British boy band The Wanted as they perform their "Glee"-approved hit "Glad You Came," as well as the premiere of judge Jennifer Lopez's new video for "Dance Again."
