'American Idol': Scotty McCreery brings his 'Water Tower Town' to the 'Idol' stage

For the Thursday, March 29 results show on "American Idol," last year's winner Scotty McCreery took to the stage to perform what we presume will be the next single released from his debut album "Clear As Day."

It's an anthem extoling the virtues of a small town, like the kind of that would have a water tower. It's really the perfect song for young Scotty and it's nice to see his stage presence has improved significantly since his time on "Idol."

After he was done performing, Jimmy Iovine takes a moment to present Scotty with a framed print of his album cover and platinum record, which means he's sold over 1 million copies. Iovine calls earning a platinum record in today's music scene a "Herculean" effort. Scotty seemed very touched by the gesture, though Iovine didn't seem overly excited. Maybe that's as excited as he gets.
