'Veep' tralier: Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the Vice President in new HBO comedy
HBO released a new trailer for its political comedy "Veep," starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer, a former Senator who becomes the Vice President of the United States.
In short, it looks very hilarious. We're extremely excited to see Louis-Dreyfus back in action, especially considering the fact that the show's on HBO means the humor can be a little edgier than a network show.
For example, the trailer alone features several creative uses of the f-bomb. Our favorite, re: a recently edited speech: VP Meyer asks, "This has been pencil-f***ed completely?" "Yes, front and back. Very little romance," her aide responds.
"It is a true delight to work with HBO and Armando Iannucci," Louis-Dreyfus says in a statement. "I take the role of vice president very seriously, and although everyone says this is a comedy, I don't think there is anything funny at all about me being a heartbeat away from the presidency."
"Veep" premieres Sunday, April 22 on HBO.
