'Saturday Night Live': Maya Rudolph has writers block, Andy Samberg has pizza
Maya Rudolph returns to "Saturday Night Live" this week for her first time as host -- provided she can get over her writers block.
In these promos for her appearance Saturday (Feb. 18), Rudolph, an "SNL" regular from 2000-07, revisits her old stomping grounds with Andy Samberg, worrying about whether she'll come up with enough matieral for the show -- which then leads to a couple of variations on the "Did somebody order a pizza?" trope from about a million porn movies. (Worry not; it's all PG.)
There are also lots and lots of sunglasses, and a talking inflatable shark. So she's got that going for her.
Rudolph will be joined on "SNL" by musical guest Sleigh Bells, and we wouldn't be at all surprised to see some of her former castmates as well. We could easily see/kind of hope there is a "Bronx Beat" sketch with Amy Poehler, for instance. Fingers crossed.
