peter-jacobson-house.jpg"House" regular Peter Jacobson won't have a lot of downtime between the end of his current series and his possible next series role.

Jacobson, who's joined "House" in its fourth season, has taken a role in the Showtime drama pilot "Ray Donovan," according to Deadline. He's the first "House" cast member to line up pilot work since the announcement of the show's end date.

"Ray Donovan" star Liev Schreiber as a professional trouble-shooter (a la "Michael Clayton") who works for the wealthy and powerful of Los Angeles but has a boatload of issues within his own family. Jacobson, whose credits also include "The Starter Wife" and "The Lost Room," will have a recurring part as a colleague who often turns to Ray when he needs a problem fixed.

The series will also star Jon Voight as Ray's dad, Elliott Gould as Ray's professional mentor and Paula Malcomson ("Deadwood") as his wife, along with Dash Mihok, Pooch Hall and Eddie Marsan. Ann Biderman ("Southland") created the show.

In other pilot news, Zach Cregger ("The Whitest Kids U'Know," NBC's "Friends With Benefits") will play one of the lead roles in NBC's Charlie Grandy/Jimmy Fallon pilot, per Deadline. The comedy centers on three guys in their 30s trying to adjust to the adult responsibilities of fatherhood.
