'Breaking Bad,' 'Homeland,' 'The Descendants' take home Writers Guild Awards
"Homeland," "Breaking Bad" and "Modern Family" each won two honors Sunday (Feb. 19) at the Writers Guild of America Awards. On the film side, the scripts for "The Descendants" and "Midnight in Paris" earned awards from the guild. The WGA gave Laurel Awards -- for writers who have "advanced the literature" of movies or television -- to "Forrest Gump" and "The Insider" scribe Eric Roth for film and to "thirtysomething" and "Once and Again" creators Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz for television.
