TV Ratings: Tim Tebow's AFC playoff loss is CBS' gain

Tim Tebow's prayers weren't enough to push the Denver Broncos past the New England Patriots for a win in Saturday's AFC playoff game, but CBS benefited in a big way, scoring a major win in ratings and coming out way ahead of ABC's live Miss America pageant broadcast.

CBS drew a massive 29 million viewers and a 15.8 rating/26 share in households. FOX followed with 8.6 million viewers (5.1/8). ABC (5.4 million, 3.3/5) and NBC (2.6 million, 1.6, 3) brought up the rear.

Unsurprisingly, CBS also dominated the adults 18-49 demographic -- pulling a healthy 10.6. Saturday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

CBS: AFC playoff: Patriots vs. Broncos (28 million viewers, 15.2/25)
FOX: "COPS" (15.1 million, 8.7/14)
ABC: "Wipeout" re-run (2.9 million, 1.7/3)
NBC: "The Firm" re-run (2.1 million, 1.6/3)

18-49 leader: AFC playoff: Patriots vs. Broncos (9.7)

9 p.m.

CBS: AFC playoff: Patriots vs. Broncos (33.6 million, 17/9/29)
ABC: 2012 Miss America pageant (5.7 million, 3.5/6)
NBC: "The Firm" re-run (2.3 million, 1.7/3)
FOX: "Terra Nova" re-run (2.2 million, 1.5/2)

18-49 leader: AFC playoff: Patriots vs. Broncos (12.3)

10 p.m.

CBS: AFC playoff: Patriots vs. Broncos (25 million, 15.8/26)
ABC: 2012 Miss America pageant (7.8 million, 4.7/8)
NBC: "Law & Order: SVU" re-run (3.4 million, 2.4/4)
