'The Killing' Season 1 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray March 13

the-killing-dvd-20th-century-fox-home-entertainment.jpgRegardless of your thoughts on "The Killing" finale, there's no doubt the AMC series about the investigation into 16-year-old Rosie Larsen's death began one of 2011's most gripping dramas.

Zap2it can exclusively announce that you'll be able to catch up on the first season of the Seattle-set series when "The Killing" Season 1 is released on DVD and Blu-ray March 13.

The set, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, will include all 13 episodes, an extended season finale, unaired deleted and extended scenes, director and cast commentaries, featurettes and a gag reel (that'll be an interesting contrast to the show's somber tone).

"The Killing" stars the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated Mireille Enos as Sarah Linden, the lead homicide detective investigating the murder, Joel Kinnaman as Stephen Holder, her partner, Billy Campbell as Seattle mayoral candidate Darren Richmond and Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton as Mitch and Stan Larsen, the victim's grieving parents.

The show returns for Season 2 at some point in 2012. And yes, we've been assured that we'll actually find out the identity of Rosie's killer.
