The CW gives medical dramedy 'First Cut' the green light

cw-logo.jpgThe CW has picked up an hour-long "dramedy" about a cute-but-dorky young female doctor who leaves med school only to discover that being a real doctor is plagued with the same kinds of problems she faced in high school.

No, this isn't a re-print from last season, when the network picked up "Hart of Dixie," which -- while adorable and well-liked by critics -- has performed better on online streaming service Hulu than on the actual television network.

This time around, The CW has given the green light to "First Cut," created by Jennie Snyder Urman (a "Gilmore Girls" co-producer) and backed by executive producer Dan Jinks. We're hoping that it's different enough from "Hart of Dixie" to distinguish itself, though its pickup does make us question "Dixie's" longevity on the network.
