Kiefer Sutherland: '24' movie will shoot in the spring

kiefer-sutherland-tca-jan-2012-gi.jpgWe're not overly confident about the prospects of a "Veronica Mars" movie getting made, regardless of how into it Kristen Bell is. And we'll believe an "Arrested Development" film is really happening when we see the the trailer in a theater.

But the "24" movie is just about ready to start rolling -- at least according to Kiefer Sutherland.

"Hopefully we will be shooting at the end of April, beginning of May," Sutherland said Sunday (Jan. 8) at the TV critics' winter press tour. He was there to promote his new FOX series "Touch," but the subject of his last show came up more than once.

The movie will take place relatively soon after the events of "24's" final season and cover a single day in Jack Bauer's crisis-filled life, though obviously not in real time. If filming goes ahead as planned in the spring, that would put it on target for release in 2013.
