Kathy Griffin takes the talk show leap for Bravo

kathy-griffin-same-name.pngKathy Griffin, who has been hanging around Bravo for years with her "My Life on the D List" and several comedy specials, will host a new one-hour weekly talk show for the cable network starting this spring. The news came in an announcement from Bravo at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday (Jan. 7).

"Unlike any other talk show, this will be the destination to get Griffin's thoughts on everything pop culture as she rants on the week's biggest headlines and tabloid gossip as well as feature stand-up routines, celebrity interviews and taped segments," reads the release.

Griffin, who has already made 13 comedy specials for the network, will add two more in 2012.

No details were given about when the show will air, though we assume it won't conflict with the network's burgeoning lineup of reality series, which will grow by 6 new shows this year.

"The Shahs of Sunset" will follow a "group of young Persian-American friends who juggle living and working in Los Angeles while balancing the demands of their families and traditions." Building on the success of the "Real Housewives" franchise, fans of the Atlanta crew will get a front row seat for Kim Zolciak's wedding in the spinoff "Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding."

Other new titles include "Around the World in 80 Plates," "Million Dollar Listing New York," and "Love Broker," a New York-based take on "Millionaire Matchmaker."
