'How I Met Your Mother': Or perhaps 'How I Met Your Barney'
"How I Met Your Mother's" 150th episode was a little bit all over the place, with Ted and the rest of the gang falling apart over Marshall and Lily's move to the suburbs.
But amid the reappearance Stripper Lily, Kevin (Kal Penn) and Robin's (Cobie Smulders) game of relationship chicken and a very childish Ted (Josh Radnor) trying to drown his sorrows in crazy, "46 Minutes" did unleash one gem for the "HIMYM" annals.
It comes at the 1:20 mark in the clip at the top of the post, after Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) explain that even though they're moving to Long Island, they'll still see each other all the time. Ted and Robin are despondent, but Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) suddenly realizes there's an opening for the leader of the group. Thus, "How I Met Your Barney."
Life did not get a lot more awesome, however, and the Russian-inflected theme song halfway through the episode led to a deeply odd and not entirely satisfying place. But we'll always have those opening credits.
