Bethenny Frankel's talk show back on track, in theory
It turns out Bethenny Frankel -- the ex-"Real Housewives of New York" co-star turned reality star ("Bethenny Ever After") in her own right isn't ready to abandon plans to host her own talk show. At least not yet.According to a new release, FOX TV and Warner Bros. will debut a six-week preview of "Bethenny" this summer, with both Frankel and talk mentor Ellen DeGeneres serving as producers. The show will, as talk shows are wont to do, cover everything from current events to fitness and -- we're sure -- prominently feature Frankel's take on nutrition.
"A year ago we determined there was a need in the marketplace for a show that provided daytime women the opportunity to hang out with someone who understood their needs, desires and aspirations... a girlfriend," reads the release.
Still, back in November, Telepictures -- which was attached as a potential distributor -- backed out of the project because, according to Page Six, Frankel was considered too "aggressive" to station owners. She did apparently meet with a "nice coach" to help her tone things down.
But do we really want a toned down Bethenny? And considering the gazillion talk shows already running -- a few of them, like "The Chew" and "The Revolution" new themselves -- and others in the works -- from Katie Couric and Ricki Lake -- is there room Frankel?
