'American Idol': Shelby Twenten uses 'Idol' dreams to help battle bipolar disorder

One of the better auditions we saw in the latest "American Idol" episode was 17-year-old Shelby Twenten, who has been battling depression and bipolar disorder since the fourth grade. She sang Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home" and she had the judges wowed.

Jennifer Lopez was particularly touched, saying that Shelby brought tears to her eyes. She admitted she likes the song anyway, but you have to have someone who can really sing it too. She also loved the raspiness to Shelby's voice.

What did you think, "Idol" fans? We weren't exactly blown away, but she was definitely good enough to advance to Hollywood. Whether we see her there remains to be seen.
