'Man Up' goes down: Comedy pulled from ABC schedule

Man-Up-cropped.jpgABC's freshman comedy "Man Up" was already ticketed to leave the schedule at the end of 2011, but the network has decided to move the timetable up by a few weeks.

Effective Dec. 13, "Man Up" is off ABC's schedule and joins the roster of fall 2011's one-and-done shows. Repeats of "Last Man Standing" will take its place at 8:30 p.m. ET Tuesdays for the remainder of December. Cross-dressing comedy "Work It" debuts in the time period on Jan. 3.

ABC's move comes after "Man Up" hit season-low ratings Tuesday (Dec. 6), drawing only 4.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49. Prior to that it had been averaging 7.1 million viewers and a 2.1 demographic rating. In both measures, it was losing about 40 percent of the audience from "Last Man Standing."

"Man Up" is the second new ABC series to go down this season, following "Charlie's Angels." "Last Man Standing," "Suburgatory," "Revenge" and "Once Upon a Time" have all earned full-season orders, while the fate of "Pan Am" remains uncertain.
