'Glee' wants Pitbull as Santana's brother, plus more casting intel

pitbull-gi.jpgAlthough Ryan Murphy promised there'd be no big-name guest stars during Season 3 of "Glee," he seems to be going back on his word. The latest from the "Glee" casting beat is that producers are in talks with Pitbull -- yes, the rapper -- to play a member of Santana's family.

Obviously, Santana's storyline will heat up in the new year after she deals with the fallout from being disowned by her grandmother after coming out. Gloria Estefan will appear as the former Troubletones singer's mother in an upcoming episode, and Entertainment Weekly reports that Pitbull (a.k.a. Mr. Worldwide) will likely drop by as Santana's brother for a Lopez family musical number. Since the only rapping "Glee" has featured so far has been from Mr. Schuester (and a bit from some New Directions members), we'd happily welcome an actual rapper into the "Glee" family.

Ricky Martin will still play a Spanish teacher, but that episode will likely air in January.

Elsewhere in the "Glee" casting world, word is that notices have gone out seeking two men to play none other than Rachel's gay dads, whom we've only met via a photograph in the pilot episode. To that we say: FINALLY!

What do you think of this casting news? Will Pitbull be a good fit? And are you excited we're finally going to meet Rachel's dads?
