Danneel Ackles heads to 'Retired at 35' as a single mom
TV Land comedy "Retired at 35" is getting a new hot mom! Danneel Ackles, best known from her "One Tree Hill" days as not-so-Clean-Teen Rachel Gatina, will join the series' second season, which went into production last month, for a guest starring gig -- and Zap2it has your exclusive details!
"Retired at 35" follows David (Johnathan McClain), an overworked 35-year-old who leaves the hectic NYC business world behind in favor of moving in with his parents... in a senior-living community.
In a three-episode arc, Ackles plays a single mother with an 8-year-old son who meets David in a grocery store, sparking up an immediate connection. When he finds out that she's got a kid -- and that they're clearly in very different places in their lives -- he's hesitant to embark on a relationship, but they decide to give dating a try anyway. Hilarity ensues.
Currently on the big screen in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," Ackles was last seen on television in NBC's short-lived "Friends With Benefits."
(By the way -- if, like us, you were frustrated by the not-so-happy ending of "FWB," we've got good news! You can watch the real series finale, which never aired, on iTunes.)
