'The Firm': First promos for NBC's John Grisham drama

josh-lucas-the-firm-nbc.jpgNBC's new drama "The Firm" is a sort-of sequel to the events dramatized in John Grisham's novel and the 1994 movie starring Tom Cruise. And it would appear that Mitch McDeere is still doing a lot of looking over his shoulder.

The first two teasers for the series, which premieres Sunday, Jan. 8 and moves to Thursdays starting Jan. 12, don't reveal a whole lot about the show, save for this: There's a cabal of lawyers (led by "Battlestar Galactica's" Tricia Helfer) looking to keep Mitch (Josh Lucas) quiet, and Mitch himself is rather upset about that.

"The Firm" is set 10 years after the events of the book. Mitch and his wife, Abby (Molly Parker), have spent some time in witness protection and generally not had an easy time of it. When they resurface, though, bad things start stalking them again.

The money shot in the two 15-second teasers is in the second one below, in which a panicked-sounding Mitch says over the phone to Abby, "It's happening again." So it would appear, Mitch.
