'Eastbound & Down,' 'Life's Too Short' set for February premieres on HBO
HBO will keep its comedy shelves stocked in the first part of 2012 with the return of "Eastbound & Down" and the debut of new series "Life's Too Short." Both shows will premiere Sunday, Feb. 19. They join "The Life & Times of Tim," which debuts Friday, Dec. 16, and "Angry Boys," which premieres on New Year's Day, in the cable channel's comedy lineup in the first quarter of next year.
"Eastbound & Down" will follow Kenny Powers (Danny McBride) back to the United States after last season's sojourn south of the border. McBride said earlier this year that Season 3 could be the last for the series.
"Life's Too Short," which is already airing on the BBC, is a faux documentary starring Warwick Davis ("Harry Potter's" Prof. Flitwick) and created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant ("The Office," "Extras"). Gervais and Merchant also play themselves in the show, which will feature cameos from Johnny Depp, Steve Carell, Helena Bonham Carter, Sting and others.
"Eastbound & Down" and "Life's Too Short" will be teamed with new drama "Luck" on Sunday nights.
