Coldplay brings 'Paradise' to 'Saturday Night Live'
Emma Stone wasn't the only one visiting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend (Nov. 12). British alterna-rockers Coldplay (you may remember them as the band fronted by Gwyneth Paltrow's husband, Chris Martin) stopped by to perform a couple songs from their latest album, "Mylo Xyloto."
First up was the melancholy single "Paradise," with Martin leading on piano. The performance kicks off at about minute 25:28 in the video above. Not exactly a rousing rock anthem, but we're sure it made good background music for set changes and bathroom breaks. Be sure to check out their neato glow-in-the-dark graffiti stage.
The band also performed its other new-ish single, "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall," the title of which makes us simultaneously think of TLC's "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls" and John Mayer's "Your Body is a Wonderland." -- so, umm, not a good sign. But the song turned out to actually be pretty cool, so we'll forgive them the title.
Also, they get an "A" for consistency -- the song's video also features day-glo graffiti:
