Becki Newton books 'How I Met Your Mother' role

Looks like "How I Met Your Mother" has found a new lady to help soothe Barney's broken heart.

According to TVLine, former "Ugly Betty" star Becki Newton has signed on for a recurring role as Barney's new love interest, Quinn. Newton's first episode will air in January and she'll stick around throughout the season, so we're thinking this won't be a random rebound for the reformed womanizer. 

Barney seemed to tame his ways during Season 7 as he began to date Nora, but ended the relationship after a tryst with Robin reminded him of the feelings he still had for his ex. Unfortunately, Robin didn't hold up her end of the bargain and failed to break up with her boyfriend, so not only is Barney devastated that his relationship with Nora is over, he's also heartbroken that he can't be with Robin.

Hopefully Quinn can bring back some of that Stinson spark. But is she the mystery woman Barney eventually marries? Something tells us we won't find that out any time soon.
