AMAs 2011: Kelly Clarkson recruits the Newsies for 'Mr. Know It All' performance

It's not that we're not ecstatic about Kelly Clarkson's triumphant return to the music charts. And we're so psyched about the "Newsies" Broadway show. But what was the deal with Clarkson's strangely Newsie-fied performance of "Mr. Know It All" at the 2011 American Music Awards?
Clarkson was undeniably the most talented singer to grace the stage all night, but we were not feeling the 1940s-influenced arrangement of her latest single. The oddly placed horns, the strange pacing of the tempo, the weird Newsie backup dancers -- none of it seemed to fit the song.
What we were feeling: That vampy, sparkly red dress and Clarkson's typically flawless vocals. Hey, at least she didn't pretend to drive a Fiat onstage!
