TV ratings: 'Modern Family' stays on top Wednesday, baseball solid for FOX
Fast national ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011"Modern Family" continued its strong early-season run on Wednesday, finishing as the night's most-watched show overall and the No. 1 show in adults 18-49. FOX had to pre-empt "The X Factor" because of a rain-delayed baseball playoff game but still had a fairly decent night.
CBS led the night in viewers with 11.3 million, along with a 7.1 rating/11 share among households. FOX (9.4 million, 5.9/9) finished second, a little ahead of ABC (9.1 million, 5.7/9). NBC was fourth with 6.5 million viewers and a 4.3/7, while The CW drew 1.5 million people and a 1.1/2.
ABC won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.4 rating, beating out CBS' 3.2 and FOX's 3.0. NBC was off the pace some with a 1.6, while The CW posted a 0.6.
