'The Walking Dead': New season 2 footage 'not for the faint of heart'

For use on external sites w/exclusive video premieres.

"We pull no punches this season and it is not for the faint of heart," says Jon Bernthal, who plays Shane Walsh on AMC's zombie hit, "The Walking Dead." "Wherever they go, it's just dead people everywhere."

In a new behind-the-scenes clip, brought to you first by Zap2it, Bernthal and the rest of the show's regular cast members dish about their characters as we head into the show's sophomore season, which kicks off Sunday, Oct. 16 with a two-hour premiere.

The interviews are intercut with season 2 footage, some which we've seen in already-released promos, but a bit of brand spanking new stuff, too.

"It's one of the greatest gifts to be able to play someone like Rick,' says Andrew Lincoln (who obviously doesn't stick with Sheriff Rick Grimes' Georgia drawl off-camera) in his native British accent. "I wanted him to be less sure and that's where he's at."

"Darryl's going through a metamorphosis right now," says Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon). "He's taking care of himself, but I think he needs a hug."

On Monday, a 6-part web series chronicling the life, death and zombification of "Bicycle Girl," one of the pilot's most recognizable walkers, launched online.
