Penn Badgley: 'I think Blair is Dan's soul mate'

While fans of "Gossip Girl" now know that Louis is the father of Blair's baby, if it were up to Penn Badgley the script might have been different."I think Blair is Dan's soul mate," Badgley tells Nylon magazine. "I don't know if they're ever going to get together, but I'll tell you that I've never enjoyed any scenes on the show as much as those scenes with Leighton Meester."
Of course this outcome would pose a problem to fans who are rooting for the on-again/off-again relationship between Dan and Serena (Blake Lively) to return to on-again. Or as Badgley calls it "the obvious Dan and Serena stuff."
But it also appears that Badgley is ready to move on from his role with "Gossip Girl." And with a burgeoning film career, including the lead role in the Jeff Buckley biopic, it's understandable.
"Being on TV has been an amazing opportunity and platform," he says. "But 'Gossip Girl' is certainly not my driving passionate force in life."
Here's hoping Blair and Dan give it a shot before Badgley moves on.
