'NYPD Blue' creators Steven Bochco, David Milch reunite for NBC pilot

Steven Bochco and David Milch, who created the envelope-pushing hit "NYPD Blue" for ABC in the early 1990s, are teaming up again, this time at NBC.The network has bought a drama pitch about a high-profile Washington lawyer with a sketchy past from the duo, TV Guide reports. The idea for the show came from producer Brian Grazer, whose Imagine TV will produce the show with 20th Century Fox TV.
Milch and Bochco have a long history together, stretching back to "Hill Street Blues" in the early 1980s. They haven't worked together since the late 1990s, though, with Milch going on to create "Deadwood" and "John From Cincinnati" for HBO and Bochco working on shows ranging from "Commander in Chief" to "Raising the Bar."
Milch also created HBO's upcoming drama series "Luck," which premieres in January. According to TV Guide, HBO has assurances that the NBC project won't interfere with a potential second season of the show.
Between the two of them Bochco and Milch have won 14 Emmys, including one they shared for "NYPD Blue's" 1995 victory as best drama series.
