'Memphis Beat' is done at TNT
TNT has taken "Memphis Beat" off the street. The crime drama starring Jason Lee has been sitting in limbo since its season finale aired in August, and on Friday (Oct. 14) TNT decided to cancel it after two seasons.
"TNT has decided not to pick up a third season of 'Memphis Beat,'" the cable channel says in a statement. "The network thanks everyone involved in the production of 'Memphis Beat' for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew. TNT wishes everyone the best."
The show suffered some ratings declines in its second season, with most episodes hovering around the 3 million-viewer mark. The finale rose to a little over 4 million viewers, but that wasn't enough to save the series.
Lee will next be seen in a guest arc on NBC's comedy "Up All Night," playing a love interest for Maya Rudolph's character.
