Kellie Pickler on '90210': First look video

The countdown to Kellie Pickler's TV acting debut is on.

The former "American Idol" finalist will guest star in the Oct. 18 episode of "90210."

In the show, she'll play Sally, a country singer and cousin to Austin (Justin Deeley). She'll perform her new single "Tough" as part of college talent show/fundraiser.

Pickler jokes about the role on her website, "Well my zip code growing up was a long way from 90210 so it will definitely be acting."

Country music aficionados will have even more to look forward to on "90210" when Austin's father, played by Billy Ray Cyrus, joins the show. That episode is slated for November.

"90210" airs at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
