'90210': Jessica Lowndes talks about Adrianna and her new outlook on life

It's been a rough year for Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) in America's most famous zip code. Her best friend stole her boyfriend, she had a failed music career and then considered suicide.

But it's a new year and a new outlook for the once scheming character.

"My character has definitely gone through a lot...but this year my character is all about redeeming herself...you're going to see a sweeter, softer side," Lowndes says. "Slowly she's going to prove herself.

It also sounds like we can expect to see her help out Dixon with his emerging drug problem. Lowndes says, "[Adrianna] understands addiction better than anybody...she's going to really help him through that in the next few episodes."

And now that Navid is out of her love life, will there be someone else to fill the void?

"I hope she has a love interest. It's been a while," she says. Then when pressed she says, "Not that I'm allowed to say."

The question remains, will old habits die hard? Or is the good girl here to stay?
