'2 Broke Girls' staying employed for a full season on CBS
The good fortunes for new comedies this fall continue: CBS has given a full-season order to "2 Broke Girls."The show starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs had a huge opening behind the premiere of "Two and a Half Men" on Sept. 19, drawing better than 19 million viewers and a 7.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It's also performed solidly in each of the two airings in its regular Monday timeslot, averaging about 11.6 million viewers and a 4.6 in the demo.
With the premiere factored in, its overall averages are 15.5 million viewers and a 5.8 adults 18-49 rating.
"2 Broke Girls" is the first new CBS series to get a full-season pickup and the fourth overall. The other three are also comedies: FOX's "New Girl" and NBC's "Up All Night" and "Whitney," whose star/creator Whitney Cummings also co-created "2 Broke Girls."
