'Walking Dead': 'Rescue Me's' Mike Zegen joins the cast

Mike Zegen, who some may remember as firefighter Damian Keefe on FX's "Rescue Me," is joining the cast of AMC's "The Walking Dead." According to TV Guide, he'll be playing a new character -- Randall -- who isn't featured in the original comic book.

This isn't the show's first departure from the source material (but we have a feeling the author -- Robert Kirkman -- won't mind, since he's also a hands-on executive producer).

Norman Reedus' character, Daryl Dixon, is also a TV-only addition to the storyline -- and one that has worked out well for for both Reedus and the show since he's turned out to be one of the more popular characters.
