"Jimmy Kimmel Live" will honor the memory of cast member and security guard "Uncle Frank" Potenza during the show's Sept. 6 broadcast. This is the first episode for the late night program since "Uncle Frank" died from cancer on Aug. 23.

Ponteza, who was Kimmel's real-life uncle, spent nine years with the show interviewing  numerous celebrities and participating in comedy sketches.

Kimmel's special guest during the episode will be legendary comic Don Rickles who knew Potenza from when he worked security at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Potenza, who died at the age of 77, is survived by three daughters and one granddaughter.

Uncle Frank will definitely be missed. He was honset and funny but I thought he had retired when I didn't see him on the air ...

Uncle Frank will definitely be missed.

With the passing of Frank that leaves Guillermo the last of the three security guards. Frank and Veatrice are now reunited in the afterlife. R.I.P. Frank and Veatrice :(

RIP Uncle Frank. I wondered where he had been the last couple weeks.

Condolences to Aunt Chippie and J K.

I'm surprised at how upset this news has made me. I guess I hadn't realized consciously how much Uncle Frank had become a part of my life.

RIP Uncle Frank. My condolences to JKL.

(And looking forward to your return... it seems like it has been forever.)

dear jimmy.....We all will miss Uncle Frank...What a great man .....

Uncle Frank. You were the best inclusion to the show. JKL should honor you by hanging your security uniform up on the wall along with Gary C's pants!!
