'The Playboy Club' books 'The Voice' winner Javier Colon to play Ray Charles
Producers for NBC's upcoming series "The Playboy Club" promised a lot of musical acts in the period drama. Now, in a bit of network crossover, show heads have booked Javier Colon, winner from NBC's hit singing competition "The Voice."Colon will play legendary singer Ray Charles in an upcoming episode. In keeping with he show's party-inspired musical themes, he'll perform "Let the Good Times Roll," according to TV Line.
The show has booked a number of other artists to play noted singers including Rafael Saadiq as Sam Cooke and Colbie Caillat as Lesley Gore. There are also plans for people to perform as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr.
"The Playboy Club" premieres at 10 p.m. ET Monday (Sept. 19) on NBC.
