'Romancing the Stone' TV series snuggles up to NBC
The 1984 adventure comedy "Romancing the Stone" is getting a belated small-screen treatment reports Deadline. That chick lit staple, "a successful but unfilled woman" will team up with a roguish lout to search for her missing brother. Of course weekly episodic adventures will happen along the way along with presumably witty banter.
NBC has given the project a script commitment. Mark Friedman (ABC's "the forgotten") will adapt the material for television and Shawn Levy ("Night at the Museum," "Date Night") will direct depending on his availability.
Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito starred in the original movie and the 1985 sequel, "The Jewel of the Nile."

Hate to quibble about the grammar, but wouldn't it be an unfulfilled woman, rather than an unfilled woman? Not too sure if this series has legs to go the distance.
