'Psych' teases Season 6 premiere, announces advanced screening and 'fan appreciation day'

psych-season-6-premiere-1.jpg"Psych" returns from its regrettably long hiatus on Oct. 12, and to make it up to die-hard viewers, USA is declaring Oct. 6 "fan appreciation day."

The network announced plans for an advanced screening of the Season 6 premiere, "Shawn Rescues Darth Vader," and a giveaway for 500 fans to attend. And if that's not enough impetus to enter, the entire cast and creator Steve Franks will also make it to the Oct. 6 presentation at New York's Ziegfeld Theatre.

psych-season-6-premiere-2.jpgAnd speaking of the premiere, USA has new video, photos and details on the slightly "Star Wars"-related episode.

Malcolm McDowell guest stars as a British Ambassador whose son enlists Shawn (James Roday)) to recover a stolen Darth Vader collector's item. While scouting his Santa Barbara consulate, Shawn discovers a dead body and tips off the SBPD by relaying a "psychic vision" of the murder. But Shawn's trail to the scene of the crime might put is "psychic" status with the Lassiter (Tim Omundson) and Juliet (Maggie Lawson) in jeopardy.

Polly Walker ("Caprica," "Rome") also appears.

Check out the latest teaser for Season 6 below, and if you aren't one of the lucky winners to make it to the Oct. 6 screening, you can at least expect a flurry of news from the cast Q&A.
