'All My Children's' Susan Lucci on the show's final taping: 'Several cliffhangers'
"All My Children" is done. Though the final episode on ABC won't air for three more weeks, the long-running soap opera taped its final scenes on Tuesday (Aug. 30).But in true soap fashion, it won't end with everything wrapped up in a tidy package, according to series star Susan Lucci.
"I think it's spectacular," Lucci tells TV Guide. "To me, knowing how [creator Agnes Nixon] writes, it was not shocking that she would do that. Like any great novel, when you put it down you say, 'Well, then what?' I knew she wouldn't tie it up in a neat bow, and she really didn't. There are several cliffhangers."
As you might expect, the final day of shooting was an emotional one for the cast and crew. "I had to rein my emotions back in because I had to work," Lucci says. "But the setting was spectacular. Perfect for the last day of shooting."
Lucci also tells TV Guide she's "in conversations" with Prospect Park, the company that bought the rights to "AMC" and fellow soon-to-end ABC soap "One Life to Live" to continue them as web series. She's hoping a deal can be struck.
"My heart is there," she says. "I think it's a very, very exciting possibility."
The final "All My Children" on ABC airs Friday, Sept. 23.

Even tho I never watched, how could one not know Erica Kane and hopefully they will put MS Lucci on Desperate Housewives !!!
Big mistake ABC! Instead of fixing a good show you broke, you just replace it with junk that no one wants to see (The Chew). Thanks to everyone at AMC for years of entertainment!!! great job!
ABC Disney killed a golden property that they should have cherished and preserved. They took a popular, long-running show and trashed it through bad management...and yes, Brian Frons, I do mean you! Thank God for the people at Prospect Park, who had enough sense to salvage something from the wreck. When AMC goes online, along with its sister show OLTL, new trails will be blazed. Internet viewing is the wave of the future, guys. And Frons' "brainchild", The Chew, will be lucky if it lasts six months. So much bad feeling has been generated by ABC's faux pas that droves of disgruntled soap fans want nothing to do with the replacement, nor do younger viewers who simply yawn at mention of another cooking show. To replace a long-term (41-year-old) icon with something as inane as that! The mind boggles.
Another how do show ...ugh ... ABC is so cheap .. How much money is enough? One program AMC,being showed on 2 stations, and you couldn't manage to hirer a better writer. SOAP NETS turning into a re-run crap channel. All of AMC's loyal fans don't mean a dam thing to ABC! I hope a new soap starts on another station and everyone stops watching ABC altogether. Thank-you and Good luck to all the wonderful cast of AMC.
I'm so sick of ABC, Brian Frons, Anne Sweeney and Bob Iger. ABC needs a whole new set of Execs. Unfortunately it's too late for AMC they have already shot their last scenes at ABC and many of the actors have moved on. Many have said they will not go online.I'm wondering what kind of AMC we will have. Thanks ABC for nothing. You still have a chance to redeem yourself with OLTL and save it. Keep it where it belongs on tv on ABC and not replace it with another stupid talk show/teaching/education show that no one wants to watch. Listen to the viewers for once and hear us roar!!! Don't turn a dear ear and think you are doing what is best. Is it really worth it in the end to lose millions of viewers/fans to save a little money by producing "cheaper" shows and you can say it is what the people want all you want, but we know that is not true! It's all about the money.
All My Children got me through many years of hardships in my life. ( I have been watching since I was 14 years old) I'm in the Autumn of my life now. My boyfriend even got me an AlL My Children year book one year for my birthday! HA HA HA HA !!!!!
I could always watch & see that they had it much worse or much better than me.
I will miss an old friend.
To the cast & crew:
Know that you will all have a better light in your lives now. Good things will happen for you!!!
Miss u!

My mom and I have been watching All My Children since its inception 41 years ago. My mom, recently widowed, feels as though she’s losing more family members. I can’t help but think that there are many seniors who are going to be devasted by the loss of this show. We’re praying that the ending, which certainly didn’t wrap things up into a neat
and tidy package, means that it’s going to be picked up and continued either on the internet or in a tv series.
The thought of All My Children being replaced by yet another food show is reprehensible. I hope that all fans will boycott the new show. Producers, Chew on that…………….
