The season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" couldn't beat out summertime juggernaut "Big Brother 13" with the CBS program finishing as Thursday's top-rated show.

CBS averaged 7.7 million viewers and a 4.7 rating/8 share in households for the night, beating out FOX, which carried 6.3 million viewers and 3.9/7. ABC (5.5 million, 3.4/6) finished third overall. NBC (3.1 million, 2.1/4) came in fourth, and The CW brought up the rear with 1.1 million viewers and a 0.7/1. (Numbers for CBS, ABC and NBC are all inflated some because several local markets carried NFL preseason games.)

CBS scored a sweep also taking the adults 18-49 demo, scoring a 2.3 rating. FOX closely followed with 2.1. ABC ran third with 1.6. NBC came in fourth at 1.6. The CW scored a 0.4.

Good for CBS! Wonder if they are considering a Winter edition! I will have withdrawls if they don't!

CBS's attempt at a winter edition of Big Brother didn't do well in the ratings.

M E O W= hates CBS...thinks old people only watch. Depending on the medication, M E O W might start hating on CBS lovers

but the cast of the winter season was awesome---some all stars in there for sure.

Big Brother is a good summer show for CBS. The only time they tried it in the winter, it did not work out. They should stick to once a year and make sure its good.

Big Brother did horrible ratings in the wintertime and don't expect to see another version of it during that timeframe anytime soon. CW's numbers are still disturbing and NBC finishes 4th as usual.

Will CBS please air the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother.

Big Brother is a silly version of the hit abc show the batchlor pad. Only reason big brother is even on is that the host Jackie chan is doing the old man boss. Sad how she has to result to this kind of behavior to have a show on tv.

Wow Donna..your ignorance and inability to spell are shocking. "Batchlor"? Jackie Chan? Do you mean Julie Chen? Do you realize that Big Brother was around before Bachelor Pad and therefore is not a version of that show.....and BP is by not a "hit show." Sheesh, educate yourself.
