'Supernatural' Season 7 reunites 'Buffy' stars Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters
That sound you just heard was every nerd on earth falling over after going catatonic with sheer elation. We're still brushing ourselves off.
"Supernatural" welcomes Joss Whedon alum Jewel Staite as a guest star in its third episode of Season 7, and E.P. Sera Gamble isn't stopping there. "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" star Charisma Carpenter revealed on her Twitter that she'd be guest starring in a "Supernatural" episode this season.
Now, TVLine confirms that it gets better. She'll reunite with her "Buffy" co-star James Marsters in an upcoming episode that films August 22.
The episode, entitled "Shut Up, Dr. Phil," features Carpenter and Marsters as a married couple on the outs. She's a witch, so when they were happily married, their life was terrific -- but when he falls out of favor with her, his luck changes, big time. Gamble describes the episode as "'Bewitched' gone wrong."
Cordelia and Spike, married. Thoughts? Is it just enough, or do you worry that the stunt casting may take away from the story? Weigh in below.

I'm not sure I always love stunt casting, but in this particular case??? LOVE IT! : )
Quite frankly....I am just about vibrating with squee. Can't wait.
Stunt casting? What are you talking about? I'm sorry, but the awesomeness of Charisma and James in THE SAME FREAKING SUPERNATURAL EPISODE FRIED MY BRAIN. Yes, stunt casting is awful but two of my fav Buffy actors on Supernatural... Do not care at all! Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts...
This time I just don't care. It will be great to see them together. Besides their appearance in s7 is the only thing I've heard about it so far that makes me want to watch even one episode. It may be a stunt to draw people in but it's only going to work for one episode as far I'm concerned. I'm not sure what that really gets the show.
This does sound a bit stunt-ish, but no more than last year's Twilight episode, or their "black and white movie" episode from the year before that. Besides, I'm a huge fan of Buffy and excited to see this reunion!
This is exciting news but I don't see this as stunt casting. Supernatural has already borrowed actors from the Buffy/Angelverse before. Amber Benson, Mercedes McNab and Amy Acker have all been guest stars before. Charisma and James need the work too after all.
Woo-hoo Best News ever!
this casting of CC & JM together, almost makes up for the casting of Paris Hilton.
She was the worst stunt casting SPN ever made.
That's pretty cool that Wonderfall's Jewel Staite is going to be on
OH. MY. GOD. NO. SERIOUSLY OMG. I AM ABOUT TO FLAIL RIGHT OUT OF MY SEAT. HOLY CRAP.
HOLY CRAP.
Best season ever for guest stars.
