Shonda Rhimes goes back in time for new ABC project
"Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes is producing a new drama project for ABC that's set in the '90s. The 1890s.Rhimes will executive produce a drama called "Gilded Lillys" from writer K.J. Steinberg, Deadline reports. It's set in New York circa 1895 and focuses on the family that builds and runs the city's first luxury hotel. Employees and guests at the hotel will also play into the story.
Period pieces have come into vogue for the broadcast networks in the past year, with ABC near the head of the pack in developing them. It has the 1960s-set "Pan Am" premiering in the fall, and last pilot season developed a drama called "Poe" that was set in the 1840s.
Steinberg, who co-created "The Nine" and has worked on "Gossip Girl" and "Judging Amy," is writing the pilot and will executive produce with Rhimes and Betsy Beers.

This period piece doesn't interest me, but I am looking forward to Pan Am and The Playboy Club. Swingtown was good too while it lasted on CBS.
I wish she would make series for CBS. We're boycotting the homosexual network(ABC) this season and won't get to see any of her shows. ONEMILLIONMOMS.COM
