'Real Housewives' sticks with premiere date despite Russell Armstrong suicide

russell-taylor-armstrong-rhobh-bravo.jpgBravo on Wednesday (Aug. 31) announced it plans to stick with a Sept. 5 premiere for "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," despite the Aug. 15 suicide of cast member Russell Armstrong.

A Bravo rep tells The Wrap that the season opener will be re-edited to address the suicide and plans to air public service announcements during the episode to raise suicide prevention awareness.

"Our thoughts continue to be with the Armstrong family during this difficult time," Bravo's Frances Berwick said.

Armstrong was found dead on Aug. 15. Police quickly ruled his death a suicide by hanging. He was reportedly suffering financial and legal problems and wife Taylor Armstrong had filed for divorce just a month before his death.

On Tuesday, Bravo also announced it would address the suicide in a yet-to-be-taped special.

Nice bring on the drama. Its great to see Taylor being strong and not letting her husbands death bring down her moral.

Wonder with taylor being the star of the show this season if they need "friend to the housewives" Eddie C's loser ex wive now on teh show as well. Doubt she is in teh same social class as classy Lisa, rich Adrian, model type Kyle, famous actress Kim and beauty Taylor, Brandi could be the maid, sad how unlike Taylor she will do anything for her 15 min of fme.
