Paris Hilton's 'World' reportedly over; Oxygen to sack starlet's show

As Kim Kardashian skyrockets to the top of the reality show heap, her one-time BFF Paris Hilton continues her slide into yesterday's news. The most recent example came Wednesday (Aug. 25) as reports surfaced that her Oxygen show "The World According to Paris" has been canceled after just one season.
Calls to Hilton's publicist for comment were not returned.
If this turns out to be the case, it's not unexpected. When the series debuted in June, the ratings were underwhelming at best. The first episode drew a paltry 400,000 viewers. By way of comparison, the Season 5 premiere of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" drew 4.7 million viewers.
After the disappointing opening to the series, things only got worse for Hilton as she continued show promotion.
During an appearance on "The View," Barbara Walters grilled the heiress about her life choices after her 2007 jail stint. Then, during a sit down with ABC's Dan Harris, Hilton had enough when Harris asked her if she "was ever worried about her moment having passed." That's when Hilton got up and left. While she returned 15 minutes later, clearly Hilton was not pleased. Hilton even recently earned the dubious distinction of being named America's "Most Unpopular Personality."
The starlet has had a good run with hits like "The Simple Life" and "Paris Hilton is my new BFF" in addition to acting, modeling and commercial work.
But now with the likely cancellation of "The World According to Paris" we might soon be in a world without Paris at all.

Yay!!!! Sometimes when I get depressed about the annoying "reality show" celebrities I remember how they tend to fade away and cheer up slightly. One day we will be free of the Kardashians too.
I think the world will be just fine without her. Good riddance!
