'Law & Order' alum guesting on 'SVU'; 'Falling Skies' finale strong

A cast member from the original "Law & Order" will turn up on the Sept. 21 season premiere of "Law & Order: SVU." Linus Roache will reprise his role as Michael Cutter, who's now a bureau chief in the DA's office in charge of the prosecutors assigned to Special Victims Unit. [NBC]

The season finale of "Falling Skies" scored big numbers for TNT. Sunday's (Aug. 7) episode delivered 5.6 million viewers, the most for the show since 5.9 million tuned into the season premiere in June. [TNT]

Add one more name to the roster of guest stars for the final weeks of "All My Children." Agnes Nixon, who created the series and has made a handful of on-camera appearances, will act in several episodes starting Aug. 31. [ABC]

Still more "Game of Thones" Season 2 casting: Hannah Murray (the U.K. "Skins") will play a wildling girl named Gilly, and Karl Davies, a veteran of the British soap "Emmerdale," will play Alton Lannister -- a character who's not in George R.R. Martin's books. [Westeros.org/"Access Hollywood"]

"Sesame Street" has lined up the likes of Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, Sofia Vergara, Seth Rogen, Joel McHale, Mark Ruffalo and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor as guest stars for the coming season, its 42nd. The long-running PBS kids' show will also focus on math and science concepts this season. [AP]

Thrilled to see Linus Roache again!

Happy news about Linus Roache but please just bring back the original Law & Order (!!!) The retooled L&O:LA started to bring back some of the magic - so I'd even take that one back instead. Ugh, there are so many L&O pretenders all over TV/cable and not one comes close to the quality and timelessness of L&O.

NBC should bring back Law & Order: Original Flavor. Why they canceled it to begin with is beyond reasoning.

Yeah I loved the season finale of Falling skies. Looks like we'll get to see the inside of the alien ships etc next season now that they have Tom.
