Kate Gosselin out at TLC, 'Kate Plus 8' canceled at Season 8

kate-gosselin-kate-plus-8.jpgKate Gosselin, we probably knew ye a little too well.

But after an appropriately-numbered 8 seasons, TLC is terminating the reality star mother's series, "Kate Plus 8."

"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," the network says in a statement, first reported by People. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."

Debuting in 2007, originally on Discovery Healthy, "Jon & Kate Plus 8" followed the everyday trials of a Pennsylvania family raising 8 children and later, to much higher ratings, the dissolution of the titular parents' marriage.

Following her divorce from Jon Gosselin in 2009, the renamed "Kate Plus 8" shifted the focus to the female Gosselin starting in Season 6.

Promoting the Season 8 premiere, Gosselin recently expressed her uncertainty about the show's future, saying "nobody's told me" when asked if it was on the chopping block.

Feel free to share your eulogies, flattering or otherwise, in the comments.

Good riddance you fame *****

Much rejoicing! There is hope for the world.

Now maybe those children can be raised in a non-exploitative environment, and Kate can learn what it's like to have a REAL job.

Thank goodness someone over at TLC finally got some sense! Her 15 minutes of fame were over long ago.

she just said in an interview last week that she would be on forever lol finally

this show was all about Kate getting famous,and not about how to raise a family of" multiples"and just exploited the kids. now the kids can hopefully have a normal that includes their father and the rest of their family.

I understand why people disliked her, I really do, but I don't think she's quite the monster some people made her out to be. She did the best she could with what she had. I personally have no idea how I'd raise a family of 9 on my own with a "regular" job. Yes, she exploited the kids, and no, that's not right, but she did manage to get a substantial amount of money for those kids and take them places and give them experiences they would probably not get to have otherwise, and that has to count for something, right?

Took long enough. That show was a joke. It was obvious from the very beginning that her and Jon had a shifty marriage and their kids rarely ever seemed happy. Not sure why anyone hailed them as something special. Here's to hoping the TV-shows-about-huge-families trend can die now.

Hooray! I hope I never see her face cross my television screen again.

I'm Happy it's about time { GOOD - BYE KATE PLUS 8 }

Awesome! Good job getting a real job, witch.
