'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' Season 7 will indeed focus on 'Fat Mac'

Rob McElhenney's 50-pound weight gain will not get sidelined during the upcoming seventh season of FX comedy "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

The network released the first promo for the Sept 15. premiere and plays out like a sepia-toned Hallmark Hall of Fame movie about some obscure terminal disease.

But really, he just can't stop eating.

McElhenney, the series creator who also plays Mac, apparently put the weight on just to get some laughs on the show.

"It's been disgusting to watch him go through with this adventure," co-star Charlie Day recently told ScreenJunkies. "We were a little on the fence about it for his own personal health and safety... but it has definitely made Mac a lot funnier."

Is Mac funnier fat? Judge for yourself:

That's some serious dedication to gain all that wait for the part. It's Always Sunny is one of my favorite comedies out there, if not my absolute favorite. I've been watching since season 3 but this will be my first season that I get to watch it as it airs thanks to (my employer) DISH Network's TV everywhere technology that lets me stram any and all of my programming straight to my ipad wherever I'm at. I absolutely love it and it's changed the way I watch my TV forever.
