'In Plain Sight' disappears after Season 5, USA ends run with final 8 episodes
U.S. Marshall Mary Shannon is about to protect her last witness.
Shortly after picking up freshman series "Suits" for a second season, USA announced that the fifth season will also be the final one for "In Plain Sight."
As first reported by Variety, the network committed to eight more episodes of the Mary McCormack-starring drama, with USA co-president Jeff Wachtel saying, "We've built a contract with the audience and want to give them a sense of closure."
Premiering in 2008, "In Plain Sight" has enjoyed healthy ratings during its four-season run on the network. Its recent season finale, which aired Sunday (Aug. 7), brought in 4.9 million viewers overall, a 6-percent gain from 2010.

Then why are they canceling it? I LOVE this show. I find myself watching way more shows on USA and TBS and TNT than I do on the 'regular' networks. It has sharp, funny writing and great characters. Mary & Marshall are a great team. I'm mad.

Boy, this has been a bad day. First I find out that Breaking Bad is likely to end after one more season. Now this. If ratings are good, then why?
Eh, I watch it, but I'd have to say it's easily my least favorite USA show (other than Necessary Roughness, which I don't watch). The writing of the characters simply isn't consistent, IMO.

I can't believe USA is cancelling this show. It is one of the best written on any TV network and Mary and Marshall have a special chemistry. The ratings are okay, so why is USA giving up on this show????? I'm very upset also.
UGH. I too just started watching this show and I LOOOOVE IT. I don't get it, the ratings are good, WTF GIVES!?!?!?!?!?!
They better frickin end it with her with Marshall or Raph. Damnit.
The first season was the best, and it slid with each successive season. Now I watch "Breaking Bad." The lead character (IPS) became a tough pregnant shrew.
