'Game of Thrones': Lucian Msamati playing pirate Salladhor Saan

Another day, another addition to the "Game of Thrones" Season 2 cast.

The newest newcomer to the HBO series is Lucian Msamati, who will play Salladhor Saan, EW reports. The character is a mercenary and pirate pledged to Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), the brother of the late King Robert who will make a claim to the Iron Throne in Season 2.

"Game of Thrones" will be Msamati's second series for HBO; he also co-starred in "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" as JLB Matekoni, Precious Ramotswe's (Jill Scott) kindhearted suitor. His other credits include "The International" and guest roles on "Doctor Who," "MI-5" and "Ashes to Ashes."
