'Doctor Who' releases 'Let's Kill Hitler' prequel: Even the Doctor screens his calls

With "Doctor Who" returning from its mid-season hiatus in just a few weeks, BBC has released a substantial teaser for the upcoming premiere, "Let's Kill Hitler."

Taking place sometime between the events of "A Good Man Goes to War" and the next episode, the two-minute prequel (written by "Who" showrunner Steven Moffat) consists of a really long voice mail left by Amy Pond (Karen Gillan).

So what do we learn -- aside from the fact that the Brits charmingly refer to it as an "answer phone?" Well, Amy remains remarkably calm about the disappearance of baby Melody (aka River), though she's putting the pressure on the Doctor (Matt Smith) to find her daughter. The Doctor clearly hasn't had much luck, because he doesn't pick up the phone, choosing to look pensive instead.

It's not the happiest clip, especially give the fact that our sneak peek of "Let's Kill Hitler" reveals the episode starts off on a lighthearted note. So if it leaves you wanting some palate-cleansing whimsy, BBC America recently released this new trailer for the fall season...
