'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13 rumor mill: Sizing up the potential new cast
Dust off your sequined unitard and your man-sized dance heels because Season 13 of "Dancing With the Stars" is almost upon us. The next outing kicks off Sept. 19 on ABC -- and though we can't expect the official casting announcement until about three weeks shy of the premiere, speculation about the next batch of hopeful celebrity competitors is already a particularly hot topic.
... Which is kind of a surprise given how quiet things were on the "DWTS" front on the eve of Season 12. Names didn't start rolling in until a few days before the cast was unveiled. But with nearly two months to go before the premiere, people like Rob Kardashian, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike Tyson have all been thrown into the ring.
Adding to the mystery, TMZ issued a report saying that the veteran reality series (nominated for two Emmys this year, thank you very much) was getting a little relaxed about required rehearsal time in order to woo a more "A-list" group of non-dancers. Traditionally candid host Tom Bergeron pleaded the fifth when approached about the subject on "The View," and ensuing rumored casting deals can hardly be categorized as "A-list."
So let's put a pin in that intriguing notion for a moment while we go through some of the names in the mix and give them an arbitrary label based on how much we like them and what we think their chances are at actually hitting the ballroom this fall.
Asked but unlikely
Beloved exiting talk show host Regis Philbin revealed that he's been courted for Season 13 -- but he also doesn't think he'll do it. This is probably a good idea because he's going to be 80 and the only thing worse than seeing him get hurt would be seeing him embarrass himself. Elsewhere in the world of ABC daytime, "View" panelist Sherri Shepherd has reportedly turned down the chance to dance this season because of her upcoming wedding. Given how good she looks dancing while seated, we hope she'll reconsider...
Predictable and probable
If TMZ is to be believed -- and history has shown the outlet to come through with this show -- Rob Kardashian is the only lock for Season 13. The lone hombre of the E! reality dynasty, Rob would follow in sister Kim's footsteps. Another famous-for-being-famous name that could be billed alongside him is "Jersey Shore" darling Snooki. She's previously expressed skepticism at joining the series, but at this point her involvement seems inevitable. [Editor's note: Sorry, Mark Ballas, but if Snooki is a go, your comparatively modest height pretty much guarantees you as her partner.]
A realistic wish-list
Fresh off their sad but still-inspiring loss at the Women's World Cup, Team USA has got to give some representation in the "DWTS" sports camp. None seem more poised than radiant, Amazon goalie Hope Solo. Another sportsy name in the mix is Mike Tyson. It seems like a turn on the show would complete the bizarre arc his fame has taken him over the years, and we'd really just love the chance to see him on the press line every week.
Frankly just filler
They can't all be great choices, but with a month to go before the entire cast needs to be finalized, names like Christina Milian (remember "AM to PM?") and Ron Artest (the Laker/aspiring stand-up comedian) seem more like last resorts than early signers.
Alright, Zappers. Any of these names tickle your fancy? And, more importantly, who else would you like to see join "DWTS" for lucky Season 13?

Look Tyson already did the argentina dwts earlier this year and withdrew from the show recently, he is also heavily rummored for the upcoming celebrity big brother uk along with pam anderson and charlie sheen later in aug 2011.
I'm sorry, no I'm not sorry. Mike Tyson should not even be considered to be on dwts. Any son of a ***** who beats his wife and bites ears off of someone is a sick piece of **** and should be locked up!
I see all the rumored casts, and see alot of people turning them down. Mike Tyson as stated clearly he won't be doing DWTS. I am really hoping to see Beth Chapman from Dog the Bounty Hunter. She would do well I think. She has a huge fan base & would bring new viewers to the show

They need to change the name to dancing with the notorious. None of the contestants lately have been STARS
