'Castle' Season 4 promo: Rick takes the news hard

nathan-fillion-castle-s4.jpgThe newest promo for Season 4 of "Castle" uses a lot of the same footage of the last "Castle" promo, but to much different effect.

Where that last one was all about the not-yet-consummated romance between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic), this one deals more directly with the consequences of Beckett getting shot in last season's finale. There are a couple flashes of things we haven't seen before, including Alexis (Molly Quinn) and Martha (Susan Sullivan) meeting Castle at the hospital, a quick glimpse of new boss Penny Johnson Jerald and some of Beckett's colleagues also not taking the news well.

We're not buying the flatline that runs through the promo -- we've said it before, and we'll say it again: Beckett's not dying -- but the thing that really sticks with us is the voiceover near the end of the 30-second spot: "This is my fault." Maybe not directly, but Castle pushing the investigation into Beckett's mom's death certainly contributed to Beckett taking a bullet. We'll be curious to see how the show deals with that fallout.

Cannot wait for the new season! Love this show and the dynamic between all the characters.

I know they won't kill Kate off, unless they are ready to end the show..cause I'm sure I'm not the only one that would immediately stop watching..I'm waiting for them to end up with a good ol' roll in the hay and the sooner the better..yeah, he's so danged sexy and they fit so well together. Had never seen her before but watching this show has made me one of her fans..love them both.and his family life is so great..

I just hope Beckett gets a haircut.

At the end of last season she had way too much hair for a cop - maybe a model but not an active cop.

Just bugged me the whole time

Too much drama for a show that works best when it's light and comedic. The writers aren't up to handling the "Serius Bizness" plotlines. Hoping they'll go back to Season 1 and 2's high standards.

I watched "Castle' for the entertainment, not for the serious. It is great for the mystery and plots, but I agree wit KJ, get back to the funny stuff. The wit goes along way after you have had a long day... getting a bit too much "Days of our lives/Twilight'.... not that I have a problem with them....

I'm one of those that wants to see the Castle and Beckett relationship get going. I would probably give the show up if it dosen't.
