The previously-renewed "Nurse Jackie" will infuse its upcoming fourth season with some new blood.

Showtime announced that Bobby Cannavale will appear as a special guest star in all 10 episodes of the often dark comedy.

A film actor and Broadway vet, Cannavale is perhaps best known to television audiences for his Emmy-winning portrayal of  Will's (Eric McCormack) boyfriend Vince on "Will & Grace." He also appeared on "Ally McBeal," "Third Watch," "Six Feet Under" and the short-lived 1999 reboot of "Cupid."

Cannavale's yet-to-be-named character will be something of a foil to the rest of the "Nurse Jackie" cast. He'll play a new administer sent by the conglomerate that buys the floundering All Saint's Hospital to make it more profitable.

That's all the network has to say on the casting at the moment, but given the character's new leadership role within All Saints, we expect that butting heads with Dr. Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith) is inevitable.

Production on Season 4 of "Nurse Jackie" begins in New York this Sept., with a premiere expected in 2012.
